Designed as a resilience-focused enclave against urban displacement, this project reinterprets the traditional Ege Neighborhood morphology into a self-sufficient compound. By weaving together modular timber housing, a vocational workshop, and healthcare facilities around a central 'living street,' the design fosters intergenerational solidarity and economic resilience for the local Roma community.
Living Together
The core concept revolves around shared spaces where elderly residents and young artisans can interact, share skills, and build a resilient community.
Materiality
Locally sourced brick and raw concrete create a dialogue with the historical context of Konak, grounding the new structure in its temporal setting.
